Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the rack usually go?
Anywhere with power and ventilation, a closet, garage, or dedicated utility room. We’ll help you pick the right spot during design.
Can you build onto an existing rack?
Yes, we can expand or reorganize an existing setup rather than starting from scratch.
What goes into a typical rack build?
Networking gear like switches, router, and a UniFi controller, a UPS for battery backup, patch panels, and cable management, all sized and laid out for airflow and future expansion.
Do I need a dedicated closet or room for the rack?
Not necessarily. We can build compact racks for a closet, garage, or utility space; we just need adequate ventilation and power.
How do you handle noise and heat from the equipment?
We select quiet, low-heat equipment where possible and plan ventilation or small fans into the build so the rack doesn’t overheat or become a noise source.
What happens during a power outage?
A UPS keeps your network and key equipment running through short outages and gives everything time to shut down safely during longer ones.
